10 December 2014, 10am-4.30pm. Royal College of Art, London.

Zoe Hendon presents at The Archive and Domestic and Private Space

Private or domestic spaces can be seen as a site of remembering and a way of asking what is and is not relevant to the archive. This study day will explore an expanded idea of the archive and address the constant retranslation of the domestic, the archival and the curatorial. Speakers will discuss the places where John Latham, Barbara Hepworth, Anthony Caro, Carolee Schneemann and Barry Flannagan lived or worked. The day will also explore the wider themes of cultural representation through domestic or private interiors.

This event brings together staff, doctoral students and students from masters programmes with an interest in curating and archiving from Birkbeck, Goldsmiths, Middlesex, University of the Arts London and the RCA. The event will provide a forum for sharing emerging research and professional practice.

Lunch not provided – please bring your own.

Drinks reception from 4.30pm.
