Martin Ursell has illustrated many books for children including the award winning SONG OF PENTECOST by W.J.Corbett.  He has illustrated stories by Roald Dahl, Marina Warner, Dick King Smith and Terry Jones and is the illustrator of the best selling GRUSOME series.  Martin was a regular illustrator for the children's TV programme JACKANORY and his own story, HAIRY HAIRY was televised by the BBC.  Martin has taught illustration at Chelsea School of Art and ran the foundation visual communication area at Croydon College.  He has taught on the BA programme at the Surrey Institute and is currently a 2nd year tutor on the illustration and animation BA course at Kingston University.  He was a frequent visiting illustrator for The National Federation of Children's Books, South East Arts and Kent Young Peoples Services.  Martin's picture books include a book with best selling author Julia Donaldson FOLLOW THE SWALLOW.  He also worked with children's Laureate Anne Fine on her HOME LIBRARY scheme.  His work features in ALPHABET GALLERY a compilation of twenty-six of the most successful children's illustrators working today.
