Steve Mumberson: upcoming international shows and an award

Steve Mumberson's work is going to be featured in three different international shows later this year.

His work has been selected to be included in the Osten Biennale of Drawing, held in Skopje, Macedonia. The exhibition will open, alongside the announcement of the awards, on 22nd September 2016 at the OSTEN Gallery, and will stay on until February 2017. About 700 artists from all over the world take part in the competition.

One of Steve's prints has also been selected for the Printmaker Council Exhibition Pushing Boundaries, which will be shown at two venues this year and next in Ireland, at the Farmleigh Gallery (27 Oct - 23 Dec) and later at the Dunamaise Art Centre. The piece in the show is the ‘Sick of London-2’, a large relief and mixed media print.

Steve's printwork is also featured in the National Original Print Exhibition 2016 that will take place at the Bankside Gallery, London, from 21st September until 2nd October 2016. The printworks included in this exhibition are 'Camera,' a relief printed sculpture, and ‘China House,’ a coloured 3D print.

Last but not least, Steve has been awarded ‘The Special Prize of Jury Meeting,’ a Copper Panda Medal from the 4th Gold Panda International Cartoon and Illustration Competition, Beijing, China. This biannual competition for prints, illustrations and cartoons is becoming better know as a significant international contest. So far, Steve is the only British artist to be awarded in  the competition.
