Ozlem Edizel awarded the Dean’s Prize for Innovation & Impact in Doctoral Research

Dr Ozlem Edizel has been awarded the Dean’s Prize for Innovation & Impact in Doctoral Research within the field of Design. Ozlem completed her PhD earlier this year at Brunel University Department of Design under the supervision of Professor Graeme Evans, Middlesex, where she now works as Researcher on a major AHRC research project: Hydrocitizenship.

The prize is awarded on the basis of research innovation and impact evidenced by research papers and other outputs. In the last year Ozlem has published in the field of mega-events (her PhD subject based on London2012 ‘Sustainable Games’), including ‘Dressing Up London’ in the Handbook of the London2012 Olympic/Paralympic Games (Vol.2. Routledge) with Graeme Evans; an article in the Regions journal: ‘Mega Events as a Catalyst for Place Marketing: Exploring Izmir 2015 Candidacy and Istanbul Capital of Culture 2010’; and with Graeme, a key chapter on London 2012 in the third edition of ‘Olympic Cities’, which will be published next year by Routledge.
