Middlesex New Sensation is AHRC award-winner

Middlesex photography graduate Aleksandra Wojcik (2012) has capped off a brilliant summer by joining the MA Photography programme with a studentship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

First, Aleksandra was selected by the Sunday Times as one of this year’s photographers in Spectrum Emerging Talent 2012, before winning the July Magnum Showcase, both with work from her BA (Hons) Photography project ‘The River Song’. The same work saw her shortlisted for the Saatchi/Channel 4 New Sensations 2012, which is on show 9th-15th October at Victoria House in Bloomsbury.

This month, Aleksandra will be starting her MA Photography at Middlesex with a studentship from the AHRC, through the New London Graduate School (NLGS) consortium. Each year, the NLGS awards 11 Masters studentships for professional practice and research preparation, to students from Middlesex and the Universities of East London, Greenwich and London South Bank. The awards can be fees only or fees plus maintenance for the period of study, depending on eligibility. Aleksandra won the highly competitive Fine Art award, which includes MA Photography.
