Anne Massey: invited speaker at Warsaw Museum of Contemporary Art

Confrontations. Lectures on the history of design

2nd edition: Towards modernity

The Open Museum invites to a continuation of a series of lectures given by Professor Józef A. Mrozek, a distinguished expert in the field of design history, director of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, together with Tomasz Fudala and Marta Skowrońska (Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw).

The history of design will be presented as a series of four lectures in the context of the most intriguing phenomena both in Poland and abroad. Is what we comprehend as our cultural identity truly unique on a European scale? Or is Polish design just a part of world design? Do our solutions bear resemblance to those of our neighbors? Are our experiences indeed so distant? In each case we host guests who confront Polish trends with their analogues abroad.
