Loraine Leeson: guest lectures 2013-14

In November 2013 Loraine gave a lecture at Barbican Guildhall and a public presentation on The Art of Change for University of the Highlands and Islands in Shetland. In January 2014 she was an invited speaker at the The Art and Politics of Social Engagement at Tetley Project Space, Leeds and presented her Active Energy project at a SPACE Studios’ event in their White Building. In February she spoke at the CAA 120nd annual conference in Chicago, and in March represented the School of Art and Design at Just What makes our Art Schools so Different? at the ICA London. In May and June she spoke at two AHRC funded workshops: Curating Community? The Relational and Agonistic Value of Participatory Arts in Superdiverse Localities, organized by Goldsmiths University of London at the Centre for Creative Collaboration, and Art, Recognition and Social Science: Re-Thinking (E)valuation, at Liverpool Central Library. In June she also gave a presentation on her practice at Christies Education. Finally in July she presented Reflections on an Art and Politics of Social Engagement at The Impossible Constellation, a cross between a festival and conference celebrating practice-led research at University of Lincoln.
