Alexandra Kokoli speaks at Feminist Perspectives in Artistic Production

Dr Alexandra Kokoli is one of the invied speakers at the 5th edition of Feminist Perspectives in Artistic Productions and Theories of Art, a conference held from October 28th to October 30th, 2016, at Azkuna Zentroa, in Bilbao, Spain.

Azkuna Zentroa organizes the fifth edition of the course ‘Feminist perspectives in artistic productions and theories of art’, co-directed by Xabier Arakistain, art curator; and Lourdes Méndez, Chair of Anthropology of Art. The main goal of the course is to contribute to the diffusion of critical knowledge on what takes place in the field of artistic production in modern societies from feminist perspectives. The course approaches the historical, theoretical and political problems that feminist researchers face to continue developing non-sexist knowledge; such as the practices that question the different dimensions of the institution of ‘art’, focusing on criticism of the hegemonic representations of sexual difference.
