Hydrocitizenship Project at the Three Mills during National Mills Weekend

Location: The House Mill, Three Mills
Date-Time: 14-15 May (11am-4pm)

Prof Graeme Evans and Dr Ozlem Edizel will host an outdoor stall during the National Mills Weekend at the House Mill, Three Mills on 14-15 May 206 (11am-4pm). The Lee Valley-Hydrocitizenship team will undertake a cultural mapping study during the weekend for visitors to share their experiences and ideas about living, working and relaxing near the Three Mills and River Lee.

Also, the Active Energy project, led by Dr. Loraine Leeson, will take part in the National Mills Weekend. Through dialogue with Love the Lea/Thames21 the idea has developed to launch the Big Lottery-funded Active Energy Project in Bow, where the outflow from part of the Three Mills heritage site will be utilized to drive a slow moving stream wheel. This will generate sufficient power for an aerator that will help oxygenate the water to counteract the effects of pollution and support the survival of fish. The construction of the wheel will start during the National Mills Weekend outside the House Mill on Saturday, 14 May 2016.
