'Art as a Knowledge-forming Discipline'

Dr Alana Jelinek explores through her work the notions of power, knowledge, colonialism and neo-colonialism and the way individuals navigate systems. Her art practice includes traditional art skills as well as novel writing, performance and site-specific interventions. Since 2009, she is AHRC Fellow in Creative Arts at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Cambridge. Her recent book This is Not Art: Activism and other Not-Art (2013) is about the role of art in a world ordered by neoliberal principles.
